George Watson, Sr. was "Keeper of the Sacred Drum" and a respected elder of the Chippewas Cree tribe of the Rocky Boy Reservation in Montana. He provided spiritual guidance and leadership by instructing individuals on the traditions of native life. George Watson, Sr. often expressed his concern of Native Americans not preserving the rituals given them by their forefathers. When he passed away at the age of ninety, his son George Watson, Jr. became new keeper of the sacred drum to continue the traditions taught by his father.
